The 4th Application Guidelines
Daisetz T. Suzuki and Kitaro Nishida, both of whom are associated with Kanazawa University, left behind world-class achievements in the realm of philosophy, thought and religion. In tribute to these two great scholars, the Kanazawa University International Award (the “KUI Award”) has been founded to honor scholars or researchers making internationally outstanding achievements in the realm of philosophy, thought and religion. The “KUI Award” aims to facilitate international cooperation and the further advancement of academic research in the world through Kanazawa University as a global academic and research institution. The Kanazawa University International Award Committee (the “KUI Award Committee” or “Committee”) is therefore seeking nominees for the Fourth KUI Award as follows.

Award certificate and award plaque, accompanied by a cash prize of five million yen

Scholars or researchers who have made internationally distinguished achievements in the realm of philosophy, thought and religion

Friday, July 1, 2022 to Thursday, December 15, 2022
6. Schedule for selection of award winner and the award ceremony
- Selection of award winner : Early March 2023
- Award ceremony : Thursday, June 8, 2023
[Note to Award winner] The awardee should attend the award ceremony and deliver a memorial lecture.
7. Nomination requirements (by recommendation only)
- Requisite documents : Letter of nomination〔include reasons record〕(in the prescribed form), personal resume, list of achievements
- Place of submission : KUI Award executive office (by post or e-mail)
8. Selection process
- Reporting to the KUI Award Committee, a KUI Award selection panel (the “Panel”) will be set up. Final candidates for the KUI Award will be shortlisted through deliberation of nominees by Panel members. Roster of selection panel is here.
- Based on the selection and shortlisting result presented by the Panel, the KUI Award Committee will decide the award winner.
